Snoopy Sno-Cone Machines Recalled Because “Brass Rivet” Is Not A Very Tasty Flavor

Snoopy Snow Cone final LaRose Industries, the company that made the Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine that your kid used once and is now sitting in a closet somewhere, has recalled the gadget over concerns that a brass rivet in the machine might fall into a shaved-ice treat.

The specific recall involves Cra-Z-Art Snoopy Sno-Cone Machines with one of three batch numbers — BCH003005A28-0812, BCHTRU001A17-0812, or BCHTRU004A16-0712. The batch number is printed on the back of the doghouse and on the side of the box.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Sno-Cone makers know of 64 instances in which a brass rivet has fallen out of the machine’s ice-shaving cylinder. Luckily, there are no known injuries resulting from anyone chomping down on a fallen rivet.

If you’ve got one of the affected Sno-Cone Machines, stop using it and contact LaRose for a free repair kit, which includes a new ice shaving cylinder. Do not return the recalled sno-cone machines to the store where you bought it.

Affected consumers can reach LaRose toll-free at (855) 345-4693 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or email recall@laroseindustries. They can also go to http://www.cra-z-art.com/product_recall.html for more info.
